Meeting Update

For the benefit of anyone who wasn't able to attend the meeting at Chain Lane on the 28th, I have kindly summarised what was discussed (or at least extracted it from Sharon's minutes).

Jamie's Gig:
£394 was raised at the gig for Jamie. Members decided that they would like to try and get a seat in Bebra gardens. Sharon is going to contact HBC regarding this.

Club night at Daddy Cools:
About fifty people attended and enjoyed the night at Daddy Cools so we are looking to hold some more in the not too distant future. As the Thursday night event was a considered a success we can now try Fridays instead.
Subject to approval from all involved we are looking at Friday 27th April as a date for the next night, check back soon for confirmation.

More Gigs:
We discussed two gigs for the future, the first being a gig at the Frazer Theatre on Friday the 19th July (confirmation and details to follow), and the second (considerably more exciting) is another outdoor gig at Knaresborough House. We are considering Friday the 7th of September for this but this could change as its a long way off.

Recording Equipment:
Finally we have bought all of the new recording equipment and its ready to go. The Decades and Sumsura will be the first bands to record with it. Anyone else who would like to borrow it can contact either me or Colin.

DVD workshops:
The Decades and Samsura in association with CYC aim to produce music DVD’s. Next workshop Wednesday 18th April at Links. Colin said if they need special permission to film for various locations to contact him and he will try to arrange.

Grant applications:
Well done to Lora Garfitt for obtaining a grant from Arts & Heritage fund to purchase a set of goalposts and a starcloth.
Lora and Adam are going to make two applications to ‘Young Money’ fund.
1. To cover all costs of putting on an outdoor gig.
2. An application to the capital fund with a view to purchasing our own equipment instead of hiring it in for every gig.

That's all for now, as always if you have any suggestions/comments please leave them using the button below.

In memory of Jamie, Photos

Here are the photos of Friday nights gig (23-02-2007) @ the Frazer Theatre. We reckon at least 250 of you showed up to support the bands and remember Jamie. If anyone has any other photos, phone vid's etc, e-mail them to us and we'll put them on the site. (kya@soundav.co.uk)

Cheers,

James

Fixed the blog!

Having broken the last blog, i have set up this new one! Apologies to those of you who tried to leave comments on the old site, all being well it should actually work now!

Over the next few days i will add as many photos from past gigs as i can, along with some from the most recent (23 Feb 2007 @ the Frazer Theatre).

Please feel free to comment, post suggestions etc. It will be fairly boring if you don't.

Cheers,

James
